What’s it like having an MRI scan and breathing in xenon gas? We have made a video featuring a research study participant describing his experience and journey through the clinical trial.
We spoke to Lisa-Marie who has recently participated in a research study with the Oxford Radiology Research Unit and was happy to share her experience.
I am poorly with Long Covid after having COVID-19 in October 2020. It has been, and still is, a long and winding road. As dramatic as this may be, Covid really has ruined my life. I used to be active, slim and full of energy & life, I am trying really hard to get back to the old me.
When I was contacted to see if I was interested in assisting research there wasn’t a single part of me that didn’t want to help. If my morning in an MRI & CT machine can help just one person not be as poorly as I am, then I’d do it everyday.

I found the whole process fascinating & seamless, from Gabriele’s first email to his last I’ve felt safe, looked after and thanked. Gabriele was professional, knowledgeable and I can tell he has great passion.
Every single staff member I interacted with was professional, kind and gave time to answer any questions I had.
I am looking forward to returning in a few months to see if there are any changes AND hoping with all my Heart that something is invented to take away my pains.
